STEPHEN D. COLBERT

Mr. Colbert has extensive experience in dealing with complex business and commercial litigation, including representing clients in anti-trust claims and disputes involving commercial loans, real estate developments, construction, manufacturing, employment and other general business claims. His experience also includes having served as an administrative law judge as well as a tribal judge for the Chickasaw Indian Nation.

In addition to commercial litigation, Mr. Colbert maintains an active practice advising clients in general business, corporate and real estate transactional matters, and in advising clients in estate planning and business succession issues. Mr. Colbert also selectively advises and represents clients on family related matters, including marriage dissolution, dissolution modifications and guardianship matters.

Mr. Colbert is currently licensed to practice law in the states of Texas and Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1971, and his J.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1974. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts of the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas and of the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, and the United States Fifth, Sixth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

JOE COLBERT – PRESIDENT

Mr. Colbert is the newest addition to the AASE team. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2006, Joe went on to receive his MBA with a focus on Financial Accounting from Wayne State University in 2015. Joe has spent his professional career in the consulting industry in various capacities including accounting, contract management, and business development. His main goal has always been to manage difficult tasks and provide clients with the best and most timely solution. 

Joe will continue this focus with AASE by overseeing day-to-day operations while striving to expand upon AASE’s excellent service to current clients. He will also be taking the company to new heights as he works to add clients in new markets. 

TERRY PETERS

Mr. Peters has roots in Chickasaw Nation. After making All-State in High School he attended Independence Junior College before receiving a scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma from 1974-1977, where he was a member of the 1974-1975 National Championship team. Mr. Peters received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Oklahoma and spent several years in professional sports with the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins, as well as some time in the CFL with the Montreal Allouettes.

Athletic accomplishments include:  1972-73 Oklahoma All-State; 1972 NJCAA All- American; 1976 All-Big Eight and member of the 1974 National Champion Sooners; MVP of the 1976 Fiesta Bowl, an named to the Fiesta Bowl All Legends Team in 2006.

Mr. Peters has many years of experience in sales and marketing, having formerly been the Director of Sales for Nabisco, Zone Sales Manager for Frito-Lay, Presence Account Manager for Coca-Cola, and Assistant to the Athletic Director of the University of Oklahoma. He has served on hiring committees for coaches and on NCAA committees. Mr. Peters currently works in sales and marketing in the gaming industry. He began in gaming in Oklahoma in 1986 as a Bingo Caller for the Choctaw Nation and was promoted to Tour Director. He returned to the industry in 2004 and has worked as an independent contractor with Hest Technologies and other tribes including the Comanche, Tonkawa, UKB Cherokee in Marketing and Promotions.  Mr. Peters has a proven track record for “getting it done”.
